From the civic and institutional stock in the city of Riverside to the logistics corridor along the I-215 and the newer commercial growth in Temecula and Murrieta, Riverside County mixes older hard-floor systems that reward restoration with new construction that needs a program from day one.
What does Riverside County's building stock look like, from the civic core to the I-215 corridor?
Riverside County splits into two distinct building eras: the older civic, government and institutional stock concentrated in the city of Riverside, and newer logistics, retail and residential-support construction stretching south along the I-215 through Moreno Valley, Perris, Temecula and Murrieta. Each era needs a different floor-care and glass-maintenance approach.
Downtown Riverside carries a dense concentration of county government buildings, courts and older office stock — often terrazzo, VCT or aging carpet that responds better to restoration than replacement. Corona and the I-215 corridor through Moreno Valley and Perris carry newer distribution and light-industrial space that grew alongside the Inland Empire's broader logistics expansion. Further south, Temecula and Murrieta add retail centers, medical office buildings and business parks, much of it newer construction than the downtown core.
That range means a Riverside County program can't run one floor-care spec countywide. Stone and concrete polishing suits the older terrazzo and stone lobbies downtown; floor care — strip, refinish, burnish — covers the VCT and sealed concrete more common in the newer corridor buildings.
How does the local job mix affect what a cleaning program has to schedule around?
Riverside County is half of the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario metro, where BLS counted transportation and material-moving jobs at 15.9 percent of employment in May 2025 against 8.8 percent nationally. For cleaning, that splits the county: corridor warehouses on shift schedules, downtown civic buildings on business hours.

Why do Temecula and Riverside answer to different water boards?
Riverside County spans three regional water boards. The northwest — Riverside, Corona, Moreno Valley, Perris, Jurupa Valley — is Santa Ana Region 8. The southwest, including Temecula and Murrieta, is San Diego Region 9. The Coachella Valley and desert east fall under the Colorado River Basin board, Region 7.
The rules point the same way in both regions: wash water is kept out of the storm system. The Riverside County MS4 permit in Region 8 requires its cities to prohibit or control water from cleaning parking lots, sidewalks and work yards; Temecula and Murrieta are copermittees under the San Diego board's regional MS4 permit. Pressure washing and parking lot sweeping are scoped to the permit that actually applies to the address.
Which Riverside County cities does Nexara serve?
The city of Riverside is one of Nexara's five core coverage cities, alongside Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland and Fontana. Other Riverside County cities — Corona, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Perris, and further south Temecula and Murrieta — are confirmed facility by facility, weighing distance against the scope.
- Riverside — core coverage city
- Corona, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Perris — confirmed per facility
- Temecula, Murrieta — southwest county, confirmed per facility
How does Nexara handle a newly built facility along the I-215 or 91 corridor?
New construction needs post-construction cleanup before occupancy and a fresh written scope for the first recurring cycle, not a program copied from an older building. Growth along the county's I-215 and SR-91 corridors means a first program for a newly delivered building comes up more often there than in the older civic core.
Post-construction cleanup removes dust, adhesive residue and debris a general contractor leaves behind; the recurring janitorial program that follows starts from a written scope built for the finished floor system rather than whatever the last tenant had.
Does a downtown courthouse-area office start the same way as a Perris warehouse?
Yes. A downtown civic office and an I-215 corridor warehouse go through the same three steps — a site walk, a written scope covering frequencies and an inspection standard, then a scheduled start. What differs is the scope that comes out: floor restoration and business hours for one, shift-based dock and floor work for the other.

Riverside County questions.
Does Nexara clean government and civic buildings in downtown Riverside?
Yes. Older civic and institutional buildings downtown typically have terrazzo, stone or aging carpet that benefits from stone and concrete polishing or floor restoration rather than a generic strip-and-wax cycle built for newer VCT.
Is Nexara's coverage in Riverside County the same as San Bernardino County?
Close to it for the city of Riverside, which is one of Nexara's five core cities. Other Riverside County cities are confirmed per facility, and the further south or east a site is, the more the scope has to justify the distance. Ask about a specific address before assuming.
How does Nexara handle a warehouse along the 91 or I-215 that runs multiple shifts?
The program is scheduled around shift changes rather than a fixed daytime window — dock-area vestibules, break rooms and restrooms cleaned on the highest-frequency cycle, with warehouse floor maintenance scoped separately on a slower cycle.
Does Nexara serve Temecula and Murrieta?
They are evaluated per facility. Temecula and Murrieta sit furthest from Nexara's Ontario base among the county's larger cities, so a recurring program with enough scope to schedule reliably is a better fit than a one-off small job. Note that they fall under the San Diego water board, not Santa Ana.
What happens with pressure-washing wash water near storm drains in Riverside County?
It has to be kept out of the storm system. In the northwest county, the Santa Ana board's Riverside County MS4 permit requires cities to prohibit or control wash water from lot and sidewalk cleaning; in Temecula and Murrieta the San Diego board's regional permit applies. The scope specifies who contains it.
Can Nexara clean a newly built facility before it opens?
Yes. Post-construction cleanup covers dust, adhesive and construction debris ahead of occupancy, which is a common first job along the county's growth corridors as new retail and industrial space comes online.
Does the Coachella Valley fall under Nexara's Riverside County coverage?
Nexara's Riverside County focus is the western county, starting with the city of Riverside. The Coachella Valley is a long drive from the Ontario base and sits under a different water board (Colorado River Basin, Region 7), so a facility there is evaluated case by case on scope and distance.
